Looking
for something a little different? The town of Frye Island is a small
island off the easterly shore of Sebago Lake off Raymond Cape in the
town of Raymond. With approximately 400 homes, this island is open
from May through late October. The island is approximately 1.5 miles
wide by 2.5 miles long. It is accessed via two car ferries which run
every 1/2 hour throughout the height of rental season - the trip takes
less than 10 minutes. The island features a 9 hole golf course, a boat
marina, 12 association beaches, a pool and tennis courts. There is
an island variety store, restaurant and ice cream shop. It is a wonderful
place to walk and ride bikes. The frontage around the island varies
but most of our rentals have either private frontage or have access to sandy
bottom frontage or sandy beaches.
NOTE: There is a $24.00 round trip charge for
the ferry per car AND $24.00 for a 1 axle boat trailer. Discount tickets
for additional ferry rides may be purchased at the Frye Island
town office which is located just behind the cafe/ice cream
shop. |
